The short set of rules for using a free game with nothing to buy.

The game is free

There is nothing to buy, no subscription and no account. You do not owe anything for playing, and equally you are not owed anything — see availability, below.

Fair use of the site

Play as much as you like, by hand. Please do not:

• run scripts, bots or automated tools against the site, including automated guessing;
• attempt to extract puzzle answers other than by playing, or to reach the unblurred illustration for a round you have not finished;
• attempt to interfere with the site's operation or with other people's games;
• republish the puzzles, clues or illustrations in bulk, or present them as your own work.

The guess limit exists to stop scripts, not people. If you are playing by hand you will never meet it.

Who owns what

The puzzles, clue text, descriptions, illustrations, code and the name Blurd belong to the project. Sharing a result, a screenshot or a link is exactly what the share button is for and needs no permission. Wholesale copying of the content does.

Your guesses are yours. The record of them is covered by the privacy policy.

Availability

Blurd is a small independent project, not a service with a support contract. It may change, break, go down for a while, or eventually stop. Puzzles may be corrected or withdrawn if something is wrong with them. No promise is made that the site will be available at any particular moment, or that your play record will survive forever.

No warranty

The site is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the extent the law allows, the project is not liable for any loss arising out of using or being unable to use the site. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The date below will move when they are, and continuing to use the site after that means the new version applies.
